What to Expect

Roz Redmond and Decorating Den Interiors brings 25 years of experience right to your door.

Roz will request a complete walk through, and you should mention any other problem areas you may need to work on later. If you’re working on a residential space she may also ask to see your closet to get an idea of the colors and patterns you wear. This is a time to get to know each other and decide how to move forward.

The initial appointment typically lasts about an hour. If you decide to work together Roz will take photos and video, and measure the space.  If there are multiple areas to be measured, she may return another day.

Once measuring is complete, Roz will go to work creating a design vision that matches top quality home furnishings products with the lifestyle look you desire whether it is traditional, transitional or contemporary. She will work with you from the idea stage all the way through delivery and installation of products, and the final reveal!

Investment

People are often shy to discuss a budget, but for both parties it is by far one of the most important aspects of your initial consultation as making your home magazine-worthy will take an investment that will be repaid many times over.

You may not know how much things cost and we can work with you to determine a budget that accomplishes your overall project goals. Without an agreed budget, your interior designer cannot start work.

You may choose to work on one space at a time or an entire home or business. The investment will determine the furnishings Roz can include in the project. Fortunately, we have access to a vast array of products.

We have to the trade only pieces and custom upholstery and drapery. We also have imported furniture at different price points to help fit in most budgets. We also offer a full range of commercial furnishings.

Making Selections

Once you have an agreement on your investment sketches and floor plans are created.  Custom window treatments and upholstered furnishings are designed for you with fabric selections based upon your functional needs and aesthetic style.  All other room elements such as lighting, accessories, and floor coverings are selected and incorporated into your plan.  Product availability is confirmed with suppliers, a design presentation is created, and our presentation appointment is confirmed.

During the presentation, where all decision makers should be present, we reveal our recommendations for creating the space of your dreams. Together, we’ll discuss any adjustments necessary to the design plan.  Once a final plan is agreed upon, a contract is signed, and payment secured.

Design Plan

Roz will present her ideas through a mixture of PowerPoint with floor plans, 3-D drawings and product images, and hand samples of products such as flooring, tile, drapery and furniture fabrics.

Roz will have worked with the budget that was agreed on earlier in the process and you will know that the cost of your project will be within limits so you can relax and enjoy the presentation.

As your products are ordered from a wide range of vendors, items arrive individually and warehoused safely until everything arrives. Some things may arrive within weeks, custom items may take several months depending on fabric availability and production schedules. Roz will keep you informed throughout the process.

Reveal Day

If you are having major renovations, you will see most of the major work being done. If you are having paint and wallpaper installed, that may also happen earlier to avoid paint spills on your new furniture. But if you are just having a room decorated, you can look forward to a nice surprise.

You’ve waited patiently for installation day, surely the most exciting day for both you and Roz! It is advisable to leave Roz alone in your home to supervise the sub-contractors who will install window treatments and hang light fixtures.

Roz will call you to return home when everything is perfect. There is nothing nicer than having left your home in the morning then returning later to see the final reveal. Enjoy your new space — hiring an interior designer is worth every cent!
